I had heard he was doing OK with the throat cancer, but can't seem to find diddly squat on the net JJ......I too had friend...friend's wife actually...who went to school with him in Lexington. He did Purity ads in Nashville and all over TN, but prior had done an Army sergeant character for Pruett's Foodtown in Chattanooga. I was living there at the time and then later I was living in Nashville as he made Ernest a household name. Never dreamed he'd take it so far. Brenda said he was a relly good guy. Wish we knew more about his health.
