Cajun music revivalist, zydecist, fiddler, singer and BeauSoleil founder,

Michael Doucet

was born 2/14/1951
in Scott, LA

Per AMG, his reinterest in Cajun music was sparked by Fairport Convention's "Cajun Woman."
He ended up staying many years studying with Scottish fiddle great Barry Dransfield,
who introduced him to Richard Thompson.

Doucet credited Thompson for influencing his own composition.
