that brings to mind a book i once read
about how to live in the woods..i think
it was by Colonel Townsend Wheeler
(how do i remember that?)
and how does the word spelled Colonel
get pronounced kernal?? (no "R"?)

any way he suggested getting tube socks..
long ones..and lwhen the heel wore out
you were to turn them around--and then
again until the origianal two heel holes
were onl your ankles...then when all 4
holes were made, you could cut them off
and start the cycle all over again...
that way the socks might last as long
as some of the microwave ovens in the
other thread...
