Any fair-minded person objects to double standards such as you describe.

Though, mind you, most people succumb to practicing such double standards themselves at times...when their own interests are at stake.

I am sure that someone will post to point out that the bloody Dalai Lama does not ever do this.....

But there is obviously a difference between 'fair-minded' people who one hopes would continue to object to double standards and not practice them under any circumstances and 'most' people who would succumb and practice double standards when their own interests are at stake.

Which of these two groups are thought to be the 'regular guys'?
