Wow, what a great question. Bit like an iceberg I suspect, little question with enormous repercussions! The US equivalent of Music Hall is Vaudeville. Geordie legend Alan Price (The Animals) also wrote many songs in the Music Hall tradition, as did Chas n' Dave ... so many others. There must be tons of CDs but I can't think of a genre compilation.
