Subject: RE: BS: What will they call this decade?
The Imperialist Era of American history is said by some to have started in th enineteenth century, but it was never as ramapnt, as gruesomely abrasive or as flagrantly at odds with the notional principles of the nation as it became in the first decade of the 21st. Eith the decline of the Me generation and the aging of the flower children, the ugliest remnants of reactionary right-wingery rose to power in a once fair land and, clouding their actions with anendless and well-orchestrated spew of media noise, proceeded to set the nation on a path of imperialist elitism and wealth-driven oligarchy that exceeded any prior similar excesses in its history by orders of magnitude.
These trends date roughly to the advent of a movie actor to the Presidency, but in common parlance the expression "the Imperialist decade" is limited to the first ten years of the 21st century.
