Anyone can believe anything, particularly where there is a paucity of documentary or forensic evidence (as there is for instance on the question of the extent to which Hitler controlled and directed the Final Solution). It boggles my mind that people can believe the world was created in six days, 10,000 years ago, and that others believe in Voodoo. But idiotic though such beliefs are, they are sincerely held by many intelligent people.

According to my definition (which may not be the best) anyone who says what he believes is acting in good faith.
