Are there any records of people contracting inhalation anthrax from Mylar-skinned drums? I can't find any information on the Net, but it would seem pretty unlikely since it sounds like the anthrax spores are soil-born and Mylars live their entire lives without ever coming into contact with the soil. The soil in the higher altitudes of the Himalayas where drumskin-grade Mylars are trapped is buried under thick permanent ice sheets.

That's not to say that one couldn't become infected by using the skins of the inferior grade Hawaiian Mylar (nasty beasts with dreadful toilet habits), but any drum-maker who would use Hawaiian Mylar skins deserves to die anyway.
