It's not that men are bozos, Bobert, it's that portraying women doing stupid shit is often seen as reinforcing old sterotypes. If a woman drives a car through the garage door she's a "typical dumb blonde woman driver". If a man does it he's an idiot, but there's no implicit statement about men in general.
