Thanks guys!

JtS went to the store with the power cord and checked out the computer. He says it works as good as it did before, meaning the ports are still malfunctioning, but it doesn't appear that they did any additional damage. So he's bringing it home and we'll get someone else to fix the ports and the inlet. And I think I'll be doing some online reviews and alerting consumer organizations about our experiences with Best Buy.

(JtS now calls them "Best Lie".)
