This is a thread for only genuinely mature wit and humor (or "humour" if you're Canadian or British), such as can be appreciated by adults. Those who are given to compulsively posting inane and puerile jokes and copycat threads on the Mudcat will not be welcome here, and are kindly asked not to post here unless they are prepared to be mature. You know who you are. We want only humor that is the result of advanced cogitation, embodies subtle wit, and is couched in impressively crafted verbiage such as is only available to those who have, for instance, secured at least a B.A., and that in a more famous University, not some godforsaken community college in the boondocks that no one's ever heard of.

This thread, if handled properly, may at least partly resurrect the BS section of the forum from its present degraded condition, which has become disturbing and deeply embarrassing to those of us who remember the glory days of the Mudcat of Yore, such as are embodied in classic threads like the "Drumcree" one for instance. (I've never gotten through it all, but I understand that it is brilliant!)

If you cannot pass the stringent intellectual requirements for admission to this thread, if you think that fart jokes are the ultimate kind of humor, if you pretend to worship people like William Shatner and Harry Lee Wigley just in order to test the patience of your betters, then stay away from this thread! It's way above your head anyway.

Okay, that was just the intro, explaining the rules. We await the first brilliant contributions to the thread that could turn this whole sordid mess around and restore dignity and meaning to the BS section of the Mudcat.
