Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Building of the Pyramids
Subject: Lyr Req: The Building Of The Pyramids
Back in Leeds in the folk clubs of the early 70's was a one-armed blacksmith whose name escapes me. He specialised in monologues, my favourite being 'The Building of the Pyramids'. The only verse I can remember is: 'Now Moses was driving a dumper, at the site of Pharoah's new tomb. He said - They should've cremated the bugger, it wouldn't half have saved 'em some room.' Does anyone remember it?
