You are right and whilst I blame the left hand for not knowing what the right hand of the BBC is doing - clearly I am not much better!!

I am not sure if it is a deliberate policy of the BBC to close down folk shows.

Years ago if you wrote to the BBC asking for more folk music the standard reply was to say it was more appropriate on local radio and Radio Sheffield had its own folk programme for many years.

This eventually got amamlgamated with a number of other stations, (Humberside, York) and became the Henry Ayrton Show, which got axed a couple of years ago to make way for - another pop programme.

There was a huge protest and as usual the BBC kew best.
