Shortly after 9/11, a morning talk show was on the radio at work. The hosts (3) and most of the callers were pouring on the "proud to be an American" ad naseum. One caller dared to say that he was very happy to be fortunate enough to be an American, but that, since his place of birth was just a lucky accident for him, he saw no reason to take pride in the fact. No one on the show came close to getting what he was saying; they called him just about everything they could get away with on radio, and apparently regretted that there was no other country or continent that they could tell him to "go back to".
