Subject: RE: No folk clubs in East Leeds
Cor! News travels fast! We are, indeed, having a charity weekend at the Abbey. It'll be on the 7th and 8th of July in aid of St. George's Crypt, an excellent centre for homeless people in Leeds. There's no entry fee but we will be passing a collection bucket around and have a "prize every time" tombola. Our guests on Friday are Tim Moon, Paul Pearson, Westport, Silverwheel and Duncan Mcfarlane's acoustic band. On Saturday we have Tim Light, Peter Taylor, John Waller, Keeper's Fold, Susie Fox & John Firminger, Rae Bailey, Achord, Tim Moon (again) Ian Hill, Whitney Gin and Julie Ellison, with one or two more to be confirmed. All of the above are giving their time and talent free of charge, which is amazing. Thanks to all concerned. I am very, very grateful. The main concerts will be outside (kneecap that rainmaker, now!)with open house in the pub for music and song sessions. It should be a fine occasion.
