I may be totally wrong here, but I don't believe the cookie problems and the the additional identification on posts are connected. The changes Max made to implement the "guest" stuff didn't make me reset my cookie on ANY of the machines I use. The "guest" designation is handy in several ways, because now you know without having to check the listings whether or not someone is capable of private messages, if a regular comes in as "guest" you know they are either away from their base computer and/or having problems.

The implementation may be temporary, but the overall procedure seems sound.
