I was a bit distracted by him being played by the Emperor out of gladiator - he looked beeter in a mini skirt.

However that said - I thought it was quite good in conveying the power of his music and recreating those early rock concerts. Didn't think there was enough about his very sensitive songwriting, his spiritual crises, his espousal of what must surely have been perceived as left wing causes in a mainly right wing establishment.

Johnny Cash wasn't a spoilt kid who started taking drugs every time the world was turning to his advantage - he was a great artist. I think Johnny Cash meant so much to his fans that there was no way they were ever going to get anything but a crude cartoon down in a film just two hours long.
