Well, the original confusion was worth it, for the hoot of imagining people pigging out at that level.
We discovered five-fruit pie on the Canadian side a couple of years ago, and I think it's now on my short list of all time favorites; the Mrs. made me one a few weeks ago.
I've been in a pie eating contest just once, at a company picnic. It was a team relay. We were told we would each have to eat 1/4 blueberry pie, so I allowed for that when eating other stuff beforehand. The sunuvaguns sat out half a pie at a time. I didn't eat blueberry pie for a year or so.
