I don't think the suggested expulsion of Russia from the Council of Europe will make one button of difference to the situation; Kofi Anaan said that he "Understands the necessity for military action".
That sort of means it's OK doesn't it?
The difference between Russia and lets say, Yugoslavia is that Russia has the BOMB and, judging by their intransigence in matters of domestic policy don't really mind whose noses they put out of joint in the process of carrying it out. We can only sit back and watch. (_gargoyle can read about it in the papers).
