Well, background radiation (microwave, I think it is) has just shown proof of the "Big Bang." There will be an article in the Journal of Astrophysics or somewhere in the near future.

Personally, I think that someone left their popcorn in the microwave a bit long and sealed a bit too tight, and that's what started it all.
