I was told that Canadians didn't like being called Canucks. When I was at camp the American kids found that out, and, of course harassed the Canadians at every opportunity. They responded with, "Stop calling me a Canuck, you yankee!" which got no reaction from kids from Ohio or Pennsylvania. But kids from North Carolina and Georgia had a lot to say about being called a yankee.
