Thread Name: Lyr Req: Two Little Girls Loved One Little Boy
Subject: Lyr Add: TWO LITTLE GIRLS LOVED ONE LITTLE BOY
Here's the catalog information from The University of New Hampshire Library:

TWO LITTLE GIRLS LOVED ONE LITTLE BOY
Copyright Date: 1905
Composer: JB Mullen
Lyricist: Alfred Bryan
Performer: Dan W Quinn
Illustrator: Frew
Publisher: PJ Howley, Inc.

The Virtual Gramophone has the recording by Harry Macdonough from 1905. That recording is very scratchy and hard to decipher.

The Cylinder Preservation and Digitization Project at the University of California, Santa Barbara, has a recording by Byron G. Harlan which is much clearer. Here is my transcription:

VERSE: Two little girls—so runs a mother's story—
Both loved the same lad many years ago.
One day he turned to pretty Nell and kissed her.
This grieved May's heart, for she too loved him so.
Nell saw the tears in May's bright eyes were gleaming,
Then to the lad she turned and proudly said:
"You mustn't kiss me so, for I don't love you.
May loves you best, so go kiss her instead."

CHORUS: Two little girls loved one little boy.
He loved them both the same.
One said one day, "He's yours, Sister May.
I was just playing a game."
She turned away, a tear in her eye.
The other one's heart filled with joy.
One he took for his wife. One was sad all her life,
For they both loved the same little boy. REPEAT CHORUS.
