Penny - since you're on a strange computer a personal message might not get there - but if the type face is too small, go up to View at the top of the screen and click on text size and adjust. (That's for Internet Explorer - but any browser has an equivalent away of adjusting things.)

And I hesitate to suggest any changes. As it says in King Lear "Striving to better oft we mar what's well." Or as the American version puts it "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I suppose some kind of spell check on the thread messages would save us a bit of embarassment at times. But it would also cost us much innocent fun at other people's expense, so we'd as well do without it.

Again, some kind of Guide for the Perplexed explaining the technical ins-and-outs, and a few of the customs and traditions of the place would be useful.

But even that would have a downside to it - finding out things by yourself, or being advised by other 'catters is good in itself - and the customs and traditions are never going to stay the same for all time, so if they get negotiated as we go that's probably the best way. Provided that we keep friendly while we are doing it, and don't try throwing heavy virtual objects at each other or telling lies about who we are, or signing in as GUEST except when we're on a strange machine or something.
