It seems to be close to impossible to keep the issues straight once personal opinions kick in.

Yes, we all DO differ on taste, level of boredom, tolerance for silliness, respect for 'rules' and basic 'netiquette'. We will NOT find one set of rules that everyone is happy with, but we DO have one set of rules that are applicable.

This in Max's place, we post and the clones work, at his pleasure, under Joe Offer's direction. Editing/'censoring' is sometimes applied, and in borderline cases it will always be tricky to know what, how...or IF to delete or edit a post.

From what I have read for the 6-7 years this debate has raged, most members (I know...not Shambles) feel that there should be some limits to freedom of speech and lines that should not be crossed. Max made it clear when he gave Joe the job that 'some' control was required. I don't recall that he said anything about voting on every case, nor that when someone disagrees with Joe's rulings, that they may just stubbornly try to do whatever they want anyway.

There is an order to it all, if we pay attention to it. I have seen several final decisions *I* do not agree with, but they WERE Joe's or Max's decisions!

I note that Joe is leaving 'vagina thread' and 'tampax' jokes alone right now, though those seem to me to be pretty close to 'offensive enough to edit'...fine, it is not MY place to make that final decision! I have seen stuff before it was deleted in the past, and I also did not take it on myself to repost it from some sense of righteous indignation AT the editing. Many edited & deleted posts HAVE been restored after debate and a ruling...and that, in my not-so-humble opinion, is how it oughta work...and 5 MORE years of Shambles campaiging for NO editing is not going to change my mind.

YMMV
