'seriously'? ..don't know how to answer that...I see the thread AS a reply, by 'guest mystified'(you?) to a missing thread I never did see, but then it went off in strange directions and when I read:

...that just seemed to me to be a gratuitiously tasteless joke which, I gather, was deleted and then replaced. My posts then were directed to the rules, rather than debating whether it was tasteless...

Now, since the re-posting has been left alone, I take that as a management decision, even though I, personally, might have prefered to have it remain gone.

personal opinions about words are one thing, going by the rules are another...

It ain't easy to 'get at' some issues.
