From going through several song books and magazines for many artists, I have noticed that quite frequently songs printed in them, are in different keys than that which artist recorded them in. The versions of several Phil Ochs and Tom Paxton songs, in sing out magazine and songbooks are in completely different keys than they were recorded in, does anyone here know why that practice exists?
