It all sorts and everything. The way people look, how they dress, how they move/hold themselves, their expressions, their smell (and their pheremones Guest DB), how they talk, what their voices are like, eye contact, how near they stand (space invaders etc.) how they react to you. After all that, we finally start paying attention to what they are saying, do they make you laugh, how inquisitive about you are they, their use of language in general, do they listen to you, do they make you interested in what they have to say.......

All of this goes on all the time, but our first impressions are fixed in the first minute or so. After that it takes a lot for us to change our minds about someone.

And that's before you even get into the whole 'soul mate' e.s.p. debate........
