The twaddle that the idiot spoke in the film was delivered as if it were a well reasoned peace of analysis. That is what makes it so easy to trick the students into believing that they are being educated rather than indoctrinated. It is so much easier to recognise stupidity when the speaker is ranting and raving.
The lunatics of the religious right in our own countries cultivate the same affable, reasonable manner. Presentation is everything.
