The Centenary Rooms in Barnsley Civic Hall (presently Mothballed but due for a significant refit ~ the Civic)

Saw many top acts there including High level Ranters, Yetties, Strawbs, Martin Whyndham Reed, Tony Rose, Nick Jones, Mike Harding, Derek Brimstone, Peter Bellamy et al

The club was in Council owned premises and had one of the first folk festivals in the Civic, before such events were popularised!


Later Derek and Dorothy started their King George Folk Club (Monday from which the current club inherited the club night)

The Monday club had Jasper Carrot and Barbara Dixon as club guests to my knowledge
