Oh, for sure, Ebbie. The Wall would be just the start. Eventually it could be extended to completely ring the entire USA at the 3 mile limit around all the coastal areas, and opposite Canada. There would be high security gates at a few entry points, by land and by sea.

Then an impermiable dome could be built over top of it, hermetically sealing in the USA in their own pollution, both mental and industrial. I think the rest of the world might go for that. ;-) At some point we could just glue the damn gates shut from the outside and forget that the USA ever even existed.

The solution to all this would be to eliminate the extreme poverty and inequity that drives millions of people to emigrate from poorer countries to richer ones. But that would mean legislating in favor of human beings rather than multinational corporate profits......

That would mean a genuine belief in human rights and equality.

That would mean an end to war, death squads, and police states.

That would mean an end to economies that are designed to make prisons a profitable endeavour and drug dealing a major source of national funding.

Hmmm. All ideas that are directly opposed to the interests of the people presently in power in most places. My, my.
