If it was legal (as they claim -- because the President has the power to do whatever the hell he wants in time of "war"), why was Bush's initial reaction "If anyone in my administration was involved, they will no longer be in my administration". The "it was legal" argument only comes up when he gets busted. Interesting, yes?

Now, imagine for a moment the right wing hysteria if Clinton tapped domestic phone calls, leaked classified information, discussed painting US planes in UN colors, etc.

But with a Republican Congress, and roughly 40% of the US population willing to support Bush even if he loads a truckful of puppies with a pitchfork (whose line was that? I love it), this will all be excused. Political party loyalty is far more important that principles these days. And we compalin about the Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds being "tribal".
