Well...we had climbed up to the top of the cliff by using a slope. At the top we had to get back down...there might have been some beer and/or other beverages involved...and, well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.... (I also lost my glasses when they slid off my my face in the light rain that started on the way down.) And yeah, that was pretty much the rigging we used.

As I said...good rope, harness, carabiners, belaying ropes, a catch net at the bottom -- I probably only survived as long as I have because ignorance didn't kill me off earlier. (Did you know that if a good-sized firecracker goes off when you're holding it in your thumb and index finger your fingers can tingle for a week afterwards? That mixing chlorine beach and ammonium chloride can cause fumes that will clear out a car in a second or less -- including time for braking to a stop?)
