Subject: Sharing a Great Story...Music
About a year ago I put my orchestra violin on the market through a Cheyenne Wyo teacher....she forgot. I emailed her, said Well?
Oh crap, I forgot...I'll get right on it...and she did. The violin appriased at $1200-$1500 US...I said, start at $1200. She had a student who desperately needed a better one. He had been playing the family 'beater' for 5 yrs. (He is currently working on the Bach Violin Concerto for Violin in A)
He (Tyler) had several out on loan, and hated them all....she said try this....his eyes lit up...and he said, She is SELLING??? Teacher took it to a shop, had the necessary repairs done, and I took those off my profit. His parents bought it for him. I was also given unlimited Visitation Rights, so I went to Cheyenne today to meet Tyler, see the refurbished Lady, and hear her.....She was wonderful before, but now she will melt your soul.
Tyler looks like the proud papa of a newborn when he looks at her...just glows. Can't believe she is his. I also took my Maggie fiddle so he could see/hear her......when I played her for him he laughed...said....
"NOW I understand why you sold The Lady".....she pure d hates fiddle music, and says, get that CRAP out of my ears. I am a VIOLIN! I am soooo happy for all of us, and never a heatbeat of regret...she found the perfect new home and will do him for a good many years.
Now, about my McSpadden dulcimer that never gets played.....more decisions........
