Thread Name: Fun With Mangled Lyrics
Subject: RE: Fun With Mangled Lyrics - La Marseillaise
Paul, here are a couple more 'translations' of La Marseillaise, using
French ->German->Spanish->Italian-English.

Usually, I translated from each language into English then to another language and back, partly because the online translator wouldn't translate some words (e.g., "mugir") but I knew what they meant in English.

Here are two composite translations, using the funniest lines resulting from the various "translation" attempt:

Prevent us to go, children of the country born them!
The day of fame came to!
Against we of tyranny the bleeding small flag gives in.
You in our campaigns it feels them these wanted soldiers high to cry out?
They even come in our crews,
Court of the throats of your threads of the spiral, their partners!

In the crews, Citizen!
Educate your battalions!
Prevent us to go, prevent us to go!
That impure spirit!
It impregnates ours furrows!

---
Go, children of the country of the mother!
The day of fame came to!
Against we of tyranny the bleeding banner is increased.
You mean in our campaigns these wild soldiers yell high?
They even come in our arms (They even come into our arms)
Cut he throats of its children, for workers to be!

To the weapons, citizens!
Form your asking valley ion!
It goes! It goes!
That infers one impurely,
Water ours forward!

And this line -- Ils viennent jusqu'a dans no bras -- kept coming out all sorts of different, funny ways!

They come in our arms.
They even came in our arms.
They come into our arms.
They come TO in our arms.
They come in our crews.
They not to arrive to our handles.

LOL
