Both my parents were English majors. They are absolutely vicious on papers. (Particularly my mother, who, like Mbo, gets a big kick out of grammar. She really enjoyed Latin, too. Personally, I think anyone who describes the ablative absolute as "fun" has problems.) However, I appreciate the fact that they've been hard on me...my writing is much, much, much better as a result. I'm good at grammar, but I don't like it. The only grammatical error that really bothers me is pronoun/antecedent disagreement.
