I learned some of my wheelchair maneuvers sometime back from a fellow who played wheelchair basketball. He taught me how to do a quick wheelie and hop a curb, and other good stuff like that. After watching him pull some of his basketball stunts, I asked him how he managed to get stopped after making a fast run for a basket. "Simple," he said. "You just run into a convenient wall." I once saw him go down a flight of about six steps. Popped a wheelie, rolled down on his back wheels, and landed flat. I never had the guts to try anything like that!
That entrance to the condo (and the concomitant exit) would be a bit of a challenge, even for him.
Thanks for the offer, Metchosin, but I think I'll wimp out, stock up on a bit of beer, some chips and dip, and watch on my magical Tom Swift elecatrickle video screen. I quickly learned that when watching hydroplane races, for example, the best seat in the house was right in front of the teevee.
Ever watch the British comedy Keeping Up Appearances? My rĂ´le model is Onslow.
