Thread Name: Obit: Tom Dundee injury and death (1946-2006)
Subject: RE: Tom Dundee injured
Spent a few hours outside the ICU with a dozen or so of Tom's close friends this afternoon (some who rushed here from as far as Utah and Montana). Several remarked that they have long been aware that he has an astonishingly large group of very close friends many of whom have never met each other.

The outlook for Tom's recovery appears to be very grim according to the trauma surgeon who briefed us late this afternoon. A nuclear medicine scan today showed almost no blood flow to the brain and massive clotting throughout the left hemisphere. They plan to repeat the test tomorrow am but he did not hold out much hope.

Like everyone else, I'm in tears. Tom has been a very close friend of my daughter's since they were in their early twenties. He lived with me for a short time, as he often quips from the stage to his audiences "I've lived with most of you at one time of another."
