From an item on last night's Newsnight (BBC 2), the focus group result suggested Labour has a problem.

It's a shame electorates, being far more opinionated than informed, don't have their views questioned by philosophers, psychologists, historians etc,etc.

I was fundamentally impressed and affected by the students of Athens voicing their opinions with the same certitude as voters in the West today, only to have those opinions delicately torn to shreds by Socrates/Plato.
