"BumTIDDLE(din)bum(dan)TIDDLE(din)", as well as other rythyms, can also be practiced on the outside leg seam of your dungarees while driving, sitting, etc. to get the syncopation down and save relationships. I also used, and still use, a medley of Freight Train, Railroad Bill, Louis Collins and Darcy Farrow in C to train my brain to talk to my right hand.
