Playing a heavy metal guitar, (mostly brass), washboard, (again mostly brass) and a razor sharp handtool (musical saw-spring steel), folks often request tunes from this genre. I usually attempt these tunes but explain that my influences are from much earlier sources. In fact many of these bands have similar roots, they just carry their interpretations/influences to further extremes than I am presently willing to explore.
