Dylan also benefitted from the fact that he had a pipeline to the Top Forty and the huge teen market courtesy of an oft-maligned pop band called The Byrds. These guys kept Dylan-penned tunes in the charts from '65 til '68. Many of us who loved his music were shocked when we first heard Bob perform it... though over the years, his voice has certainly grown on me.
