Glad to see you liked this one Roger and didn't take it as bullying or something. Yo do have a way with a phrase and I'd like to add here:

"Subjected to imposed closure."

That is so much more colorful than saying the thread was closed. In your phrase I can see the thread being battered about with brooms and sticks until it wilts under the battering and shrivels down to nothing.
