Adding a bit to Don Firth- My copy of "Folksinger's Wordbook" (compiled by Fred and Irwin Silber) also is starting to come apart. The plastic comb binding ('Deluxe edition') has lost a couple of teeth and the cover is suffering from broken punch holes. Date on mine is 1973, Oak Publications, maroon cover, but there were a number of printings. There was a reprint in 2000 by Music Sales, $34.95 new at Amazon, cover mostly yellow. Used copies also available through Amazon and Abebooks, some under $10.00. The binding of this newer edition also is plastic comb.

Another largish (Newsweek size) paperback is the "Fireside Book of Folk Songs," edited by M. B. Boni, 1947, Simon & Schuster. This one has both piano and guitar arrangements (later editions only) but only 147 songs. My copy is from the 16th printing (cover mostly yellow) so it is popular.
