Subject: RE: BS: Eagle Eggs Ready to Hatch--LIVE
After putting in a plug for the Maine eaglecam yesterday, I'm afraid I have to post a warning. The largest one is becoming a bit of a bully (as is unfortunately often the case in nests with multiple chicks of different sizes), and no one has seen the smallest one since the big one attacked it yesterday. I've seen two eaglets in the nest several times today and they've just looked cute and fuzzy and peering about over the edge - but there's no guarantee that the big one won't be picking on the medium one when you tune in.

There hadn't been any previous reports of violence, and I was hoping they wouldn't go that way - there's a nest in West Virginia with three chicks that hatched in late March, and they are all apparently doing well after some rocky moments. But I guess that's not going to be the case for the Maine eaglets.

They still are terribly cute, and it's a great opportunity to watch eagles at home - but I'd suggest checking to make sure all is peaceful before showing the eaglets to young children.
