"to attempt to define deconstruction is to defy another of its main priciples - which is to deny that final or true definitions are possible, because even the most plausible candidates will always invite a further defining".

Tw o of a deconstructionists' main points are that the relationship between language and reality is not secure but culturally-dependant, and that the great narratives contained in the major philosophies, (for example the one about the triumph of science) are in decline, and we whould be sceptical about them.
