Here's a reply to your nearly two-old post on the Tom Glazer song promoting racial tolerance:
The verse version you remember:
Heard the peach pit say
To the apple core
The color of your skin
Doesn't matter any more
Ho ho ho, can't you see
That the color of your skin
Doesn't matter to me
The version version I remember, heard on WABD channel 5 as a public service spot:
As the peach pit said to the apple core
The color of our skin doesn't matter any more
Ho ho ho, ha ha haw
You can learn lots of things from the grocery store.
Glazer also did a song promoting the United Nations (The UN plus you) and another including the Benny Goodman Quartet (Benny Goodman (clarinet) Teddy Wilson (piano) Lionel Hampton (vibes) Gene Krupa (drums)in cartoon form extoling diversity.
I think he was prouder of that work than "...top of spaghetti."
