I saw Doc in Manchester, England in 1965. Phil Ochs was on the same show. Doc blew me away! I knew his same from folk music mags but I hadn't heard any of his recordings. Of course, the impact of seeing Doc back then could never be duplicated now. For a start, his flatpicking guitar playing was pretty unique back then, but now there are thousands of players who play in that style.
