Thread Name: BS: QUIZ. Google use not cricket.
Subject: RE: BS: QUIZ. Google use not cricket.
1) How long did the Hundred Years War last?
Long time. Real long time. Even longer for the poor sods under fire. Besides, it was a police action.
2) Which country makes Panama hats?
Idaho.
3) From which animal do we get cat-gut?
Mountain lions. You have to extract it from the living, active animal to get the best sound.
4) In which month do Russians celebrate the October Revolution?
Same month as the British do.
5) What is a camel's hair brush made of?
Please so not end sentences with a preposition. It would be far preferable to ask "Of what is a camel's hair brush made?"
6) The Canary Islands in the Pacific are named after what animal?
The badger, which is pronounced "Canary" by the inhabitants of these islands.
7) What was King George VI's first name?
Gorgeous. He was named for a professional wrestler.
8) What color is a purple finch?
Far better to ask, "What color is it not?" For the finch contains within itself all colors, just as you contain all people within yourself, past, present, and future. For the fullness of the All is All.
9) Where are Chinese goose-berries from?
Geese. They are what remains after the flock takes off.
10) How long did the Thirty Years War last?
What, after all, is Time? To a voyager moving at the speed of light it becomes a crawl, while to those relative to whom the voyager is moving it becomes a frightening blur of change. To a mountain it is nothing, yet to a mayfly it is a fleeting period in which to reproduce yourself. Is time merely duration? Can we enhance time, or make it move more slowly, or speed it up? Can we skip from period of time to period of time without experiencing the intervening periods? Thus you can see that this question is meaningless and therefore all answers are valid.
