From the Ballad Listserve, Marge Steiner:

"I just want to let people know that I will be sharing my some of my field recordings made in New Brunswick, both at singers' homes and at the Miramichi Folk Song Festival. For those of you who know the work of Sandy Ives, of Louise Manny, and of Helen Creighton, you will know that the Miramichi has both a rich local song tradition, largely centered around lumbering, and is also a region in which ballads and songs more widely known to folklorists have been preserved. The Miramichi Folksong Festival has provided a unique venue for three cultures to showcase their musical traditions and has also sparked its own song lore. Anyhow, you can hear more about this by pointing your browser to Kdhx.org, and by going to the "Listen Online" link. As far as I know, I will be on during the second hour of Paul's show, "No Time to Tarry Here," which would be three to four P.M., St. Louis time. As I've said so many times before, I feel as though I've "sat at the feet of the masters." Hope you'll listen."
