Thread Name: BS: Origins of the word 'spaw'
Subject: RE: BS: Origins of the word 'spaw'
I thinks it's from the Afrikaans spoor meaning the the track of a wild animal. Hence to spoor: to track an animal by its spoor. Dialectically translated to the pronouniation spaw in Ohio and surrounding regions.
